We began by creating a brand and visual style for the programme, and designed posters for the four initial events. Strong imagery was used to evoke the struggles of the time, and we used a unique illustration style to tie the event imagery together.
From here we created the website. Based around elements of the poster – we implemented a torn paper effect for borders and used the background textures throughout the site – the overarching brand style was established consistently.
As well as events, WoW can add blog and news articles to support the promotion of the campaign and create search engine traction. A simple to use content management system based on WordPress makes it easy for multiple members of the team to keep things updated.
The site was designed with further promotion in mind – each event poster can be downloaded in full resolution for printing and distribution, and the booking functionality links seamlessly with the main War On Want website.
